Laurel’s commitment and dedication to the HVAC industry comes rooted deeply in her heart. Her grandfather owned an HVAC business in Buffalo, New York. After graduating from high school, her plans were to go off to college, however, plans changed unexpectedly. Her grandfather needed someone to help him that summer with the business. She started off helping with the service and installation side of the business, learning to diagnose and repair, she was soon changing out equipment, making transitions, and connecting gas and electrical all on our own. Laurel realized after summer that her grandfather still really needed help, her heart was with him, so she stayed. Soon she was learning all the other aspects of the business, this was over 32 years ago.

Her grandfather soon made her a partner in the business. “At that moment I was honored that he had the faith and trust in me to assist him in one of his biggest accomplishments.” remembers Laurel “It showed that he believed in me and I am able to take the knowledge that he taught me and use it where I am today.” In 1996, her grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and she became the one running the business – from Service, Installation, and Sales. Unfortunately, in 1998 he lost his two-year battle with cancer and Laurel made the very difficult decision to close his business. She then went to work for another HVAC company in Buffalo, NY for 11 years before relocating to Denver, North Carolina, where she worked for a commercial HVAC company for two years.

Laurel joined Andy Lewis HVAC in June of 2012 as an administrative assistant and quickly moved up to her current position, working closely with Mike and Lynn McAndrew, as the Strategic Business Manager. All of her knowledge, experience, pride, and dedication help her excel in this position. “I really want to do an exceptional job for my employer, for the other employees that depend on what I bring to the table, for the customers who count on all of us at Andy Lewis to have their best interest in mind and to honor my family and the work ethic I was taught.” Laurel explains “I want my children to see that dedication and care starts from the moment you begin your task to the end result that is sent to the customer. You should always give 100% because you would hope that would be what someone would give you.”

Outside of working at Andy Lewis, Laurel enjoys spending time with her family, planning their next Disney vacation, and rooting for her hometown Buffalo Bills. She also really enjoys writing, photography, travel, and spending time with friends.
